Throughout 2026, the United States will celebrate our 250th birthday, marking a historic milestone in our nation's journey. As part of this yearlong celebration, the Armstrong Air & Space Museum will join other institutions across the country in commemorating America's semiquincentennial with a variety of special events and programs. Jets, Journeys, & Giant Leaps Tour

Tour Time: 90 minutes

Tour Description: The Jets, Journeys, and Giant Leaps tour is an engaging guided experience that explores the extraordinary piloting career of Neil Armstrong through the lens of the iconic craft on display. From the humble beginnings of his aviation journey with the Aeronca Champion, to his groundbreaking test flights aboard the F5D Skylancer, and the pivotal moment of commanding the Gemini VIII spacecraft, this tour highlights Armstrong’s evolution from a skilled pilot to a space pioneer. The tour includes the historic and record-setting Learjet 28 Longhorn, showcasing Armstrong’s continued passion for flight even after his historic moon landing. Join us for an unforgettable dive into the craft that shaped a legend.


Cradle of Astronauts Tour

Tour Time: 90 minutes

Tour Description: The Cradle of Astronauts guided tour celebrates Ohio’s remarkable legacy as the birthplace of some of our nation's most iconic space explorers. From Neil Armstrong’s historic first steps on the Moon to John Glenn’s groundbreaking orbit of Earth, Jim Lovell’s heroic leadership during Apollo 13, and Tom Hendricks’ contributions to space shuttle missions, this tour highlights the achievements and enduring impact of these Ohio-born pioneers. Through fascinating stories and exhibits, visitors will discover how the Buckeye State has shaped the trajectory of human space exploration.
