ABOUT TALK & TOUR:
The Armstrong Air & Space Museum’s Talk & Tour program offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore the wonders of aviation and spaceflight through an engaging two-part experience. Each session begins with a presentation by a knowledgeable staff member, delving into fascinating space topics. Following the talk, guests embark on a guided tour of the museum, where they can see artifacts up close and gain deeper insights into the exhibits. This immersive program provides an enriching experience for space enthusiasts of all ages.
MONTHLY TOPICS:
JANUARY – Moon Landing Conspiracies: (January 16th) A growing number of people believe that the United States never landed on the Moon. This presentation evaluates some of the popular claims against the lunar landings and provides convincing support for the official account.
FEBRUARY – Black Holes: (February 20th) Join the Museum Educator in the STEM Inspiration Center to explore black holes using balloons and aluminum foil! Learn how they form, uncover the science behind them, and seek answers to your questions.
MARCH – Project Horizon: (March 20th) In 1959, the U.S. Army, Navy, and Air Force controlled space program plans, including a bold proposal to build a base on the Moon. This program explores the mission's challenges, its cancellation, and whether this dream is becoming reality today.
APRIL – Lunar Conspiracies: (April 17th) Fact or hoax, we landed on the moon? Why have we not been back with people since 1972? Explore some of the various theories on why we never went back after landing that include the moon being hollow, and a potential space station.
MAY – From the Moon to Mars: (May 15th) Dive into the Artemis programs and learn about the four missions that will take us back to the moon. Hear how the journey will continue as we build habitable bases or stops on the moon to lead us to the goal of landing on Mars.
JUNE – James Webb Telescope: (June 19th) Discover the history the James Webb Telescope has made. Using Origami participants will see one of the challenges with putting a telescope into space.
